Dr Anna Hall

I am a Clinical Psychologist with 14 years of experience working in the NHS with people with mental health difficulties, eight of those as a Qualified Clinical Psychologist.

I work with people with a range of difficulties including low mood, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, difficulties associated with a diagnosis of a personality disorder, as well as other presentations. I have a lot of experience working with people with complex trauma. Whatever difficulties you are facing, I am happy to speak to you about whether I have the right expertise to support you. And if not, I will try and direct you to the most appropriate support.

I have training and experience in a variety of therapy approaches so we will talk about the right approach for you. This is based on the scientific research, but also on personal preference.

The approaches I use are:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

  • Schema Focused Therapy (SFT)

  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

I am an LGBTQ+ friendly therapist and have worked with many people from the LGBTQ+ community. I have an understanding of the impact discrimination and non-acceptance can have on mental health. I am also anti-racist in my practice. I know the damage that oppressive systems can and do cause and hope to offer a different experience to ones you may have had in the past.

I am registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), The British Psychological Society (BPS), and the EMDR Association UK. I continue to work in the NHS as well as privately so remain up to date with training and developments in clinical psychology.
